According to support.apple, Apple’s new USB-C charging port supports charging new versions of iPhones, as the user can now charge the phone using a USB-C cable and a USB-C compatible power adapter, and thanks to the new port, the process of charging the phone while connecting it to the computer is now possible.

The benefits of the new charging port don’t stop there, but you can connect your iPhone to your iPad, Mac and other computers if you want to transfer data such as photos and videos,

The advantage here is also that during the transfer process the phone will be automatically charged when it connects to those devices.

Thanks to the new charging port from Apple, you can charge some accessories such as AirPods, Apple Watch or any other small device that supports USB power delivery through the use of an iPhone, provided that the charging port capacity supports 4.5 watts.
